It amazed him how well they fit together, each knowing how the other would move or that the other would be there without even having to look. Sometimes it reminded him of runes and soulmates, but they didn't need a mark to bind them together. They didn't need magic to be so in tune with each other. It was like something out of those silly, Mundie books that he'd found in Izzy's room. Those books were part of the reason why he worried about the 'mine', afraid he'd seem like one of the dangerous characters in those stories instead of someone devoted to Magnus' happiness. Returning the kiss, he wondered if he might end up with that kink his husband had been teasing him about. They did make kissing easier and Magnus seemed even more willing to kiss him while wearing them.
Relieved that Magnus found a way to articulate what Alec had struggled with, he smiled in relief. Magnus understood and liked the idea of being his. "Even before you married me, you were my partner. My equal." A role that he knew few Shadowhunters had ever offered Magnus. Pausing, he blushed faintly, realizing that his words weren't completely true. He hadn't thought Magnus would see him as an equal but decided to tell his husband that later. Placing his hand over the design he'd traced on Magnus' chest, he smiled softly. "I am yours and you're mine."
Considering the idea of restraints, he went with instinct since he wasn't certain of what they'd discussed before. Before he could speak, some terrifying darkness caught his thoughts, grief stealing his breath before it left just as quickly. Blinking away whatever it was, he suppressed a shudder. "No chains," he said softly, hoping that Magnus hadn't seen his reaction. "They - uh wouldn't look good on you and I think that they're in the definite no category." Magnus said that he could say no to anything without it disappointing him. "Leather or silk."
His anxiety vanished when Magnus looked at him. Smiling at how catlike his husband looked, he almost said something about it but wasn't sure if Magnus would appreciate the compliment even if it was heartfelt. "Was it silk they were using in that bondage exhibit we saw? I don't know how to tie something that elaborate but it was pretty." The last of the horror he half-remembered disappeared when he imagined what Magnus would look like bound with soft, brightly colored rope. "You'd look beautiful like that, Karissima."
Relieved that the worst Magnus did was tease him with suggestions over his lack of knowledge, Alec stole a kiss before they reached the leather display. "And I'm sure you'd be happy to give me a demonstration to make sure I understand all the important details."
