There were times when Magnus felt as though he'd never stop smiling, and this was yet another of those occasions. Alec was so skilled in making him feel happy and relaxed, basking in the warmth of the other's love for him. It was so easy to forget about everyone and everything outside of themselves when they were like this, wrapped up in a moment together. "Yes, even before then, when you were a quiet young Shadowhunter willing to help a warlock despite your kind's prejudice against me." It had been those flashes of kindness and compassion that had made Magnus fall in love with Alec beyond his beauty, glimpses at his personality and morality that had made him the first Shadowhunter to treat Magnus as an equal and in turn earn equal treatment from the high warlock. "And now we're two men in love, and you don't have to be shy to say we belong to and with each other."
Though Alec tried to suppress it, Magnus could feel the tension in his body that gave away something bothering him. Tightening his arm around him, hoping to provide some comfort, he cupped a hand against his neck in an effort to draw him out of his thoughts. "No chains," he echoed, kissing him softly. "They're a firm no for me as well. They're too..." He let the sentence fade, confident that he didn't need to put into words the harsh weight and uncomfortable connotation that came with using chains to restrain someone.
Nodding as he allowed Alec to draw the topic to something else, he reached for a coil of silk rope that was sitting on one of the display tables to be felt and otherwise inspected. "I'm sure you could learn," he said, smirking at the thought of obediently holding a pose while Alec carefully and methodically tied him up with beautiful designs. "You're a quick study, Alexander, and it would be a good chance for me to practice patience." Shivering with pleasure at the compliment as well as the pet name, he ran the rope through his hands and then offered it to Alec to feel. "We could get a variety of colors, and I'm sure there are instruction manuals for sale somewhere here."
He thought about all the ways he might demonstrate a variety of toys and suppressed a moan by biting on his lower lip. "I want you to point out anything that interests you," he decided aloud, looking to Alec in hopes he might agree. "As long as it isn't something I'm opposed to, we'll buy it and I'll teach you how to use them all later."
